The Dilly Dally series is an exploration into lingering and savoring. Shadows and source light announce the presence of the artist/observer, in whose shoes now stands the art-patron. The subjects are the streets of Corpus Christi, both lived-in and glamorized by the darkness. The narrative exists in the subconscious dialog between the subject and the viewer – the sensation of dejá vu for a place one has and has never been, the perception of smallness amidst the silent vastness of nighttime, and the feeling of falling in love with the beauty of the middling.

The Bacchanalia series takes advantage of the imperfections of the camera lens to create apparitions and digital artifacts. Again, the paintings’ observers take on the viewpoint of the artist. However, instead of feeling like an active participant in the scene, the viewer is an outsider witnessing a fanciful tableau in which figures distort and duplicate like unreliable memory.
